JOB OPPORTUNITYSummer Youth Development ProfessionalBoys & Girls Club of Utah CountyAfterschool Program-Heber Valley$16.00/hour, part-time (note: travel reimbursement available for candidates who reside in Utah Valley)Program hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00 am to 5:30 pmStart Date: May 2024JOB SUMMARYThe Boys & Girls Club of Utah County provides afterschool and summer programs to kids ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade through the summer.JOB EXPECTATIONSPlans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, such as: Education, Fine Arts, STEM, and Physical Education. May be responsible for implementing prevention education in alignment with grant requirements.KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):Prepare engaging, fun lessons and activities in specific program area(s)Prepare Youth for SuccessCreate an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes Promote and stimulate program participationProvide guidance and role modeling to membersEnsure members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program area(s)Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of members Program Development and ImplementationEffectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for all members Monitor and evaluate program services and activitiesActive Supervision of YouthOversee member safety, program quality, and appearance of the organization at all times Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly organization staff meetings Contribute to a positive work cultureADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Participate in special programs and/or eventsPlan and coordinate program clubsParticipate in weekly staff meetingsAttend additional training outside of regular work hoursSKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:High School diploma or GED.Experience in working with children.Knowledge of youth development.Motivate youth and manage member behavior.Ability to work with the school community and general public.Plan and implement quality programs for youth.Organize and supervise members in a safe environment.CPR and First Aid Certifications may be required.Valid State Driver's LicenseDISCLAIMER: The information presented indicates the general nature and level of work expected of employees in this classification.
