WHY YOU?
We are currently seeking a Strategy and Operations Intern to join our team for the summer of 2024. This intern will work with Author Health’s Clinic Operations team and develop a strong understanding of Author’s day-to-day operations and company goals. A defining aspect of this opportunity is the chance for the intern to independently design and execute an internship project, contributing to their professional growth as well as company objectives. WHAT IS YOUR SUPERPOWER?
As a Strategy and Operations Intern with Author Health you will:

Design, manage, conduct, and present an internship project that supports Author Health company goals. Project may touch on clinic operations, patient experience, quality assurance, and/or staff workflows

Examples:

What are the most effective ways to re-engage patients who have fallen out of care?
What process changes would decrease appointment cancellation rates?
What should a specialized treatment program for [a specific serious mental illness] include?


Source insights from various stakeholders to develop practical solutions for company challenges
Track and report on operational and success metrics related to the project.
Participate in planning and execution of quarterly initiatives
Shadow various clinical and operational roles to enhance company understanding and support intern project(s)
Perform administrative duties, including calendar management, process documentation/organization, and organization of company files.
Conduct industry research on patient populations, clinical processes, and operational efficiencies.
Serve as backup staff to the clinic’s emergency phone line to gain insights into the patient experience (~1% of job)

WHAT WE ARE SEARCHING FOR:

Current pursuit of, or completion of, a bachelor’s degree

Relevant fields of study include, but are not limited to, public health, healthcare management, and business management

Passion for contributing to the dynamic and fast-paced environment of an early-stage healthcare startup
Genuine interest in the innovative and evolving landscape of healthcare technologies and solutions
Strong analytical thinking, data analysis, and project implementation skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proactive, self-motivated, and adept at working independently and collaboratively.
Proficient in Google Suite and quick learner of new technology tools.
Interest in returning to Author Health full-time in the future
Previous experience in healthcare strategy, operations, research, or business is a plus

Physical requirements include ability to use a computer and sitting for extended periods of time.
This internship will run from June 3rd, 2024 - Mid August , 2024.
