We are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students by providing personalized support and helping them overcome academic challenges.Position: In-Person Tutor for Reading, Grades 6th - 8th - Day Time Hours NeededJob Description: Are you a passionate teacher looking to positively impact students' lives? Or do you have relevant tutoring experience and want to help students struggling in Reading? We are seeking an enthusiastic reading support team member in a school setting in Newark, DE. As a reading support tutor, you will provide small group instruction for students identified by the school in grades 6th - 8th. Responsibilities:Conduct in-person reading intervention with students, providing personalized instruction and support.Collaborate with students to help them understand the subject material and improve their academic performance.Interact with students' teachers to discuss specific needs of the students and aware of how to move them forward.Maintain a consistent schedule and ensuring availability of 11.5 hours each week, between the hours of 8:30 - 12:30 p.m. 3.5 hour a day 3 days a week 1 hour planning per week from 1/8 - 3/28/24Demonstrate strong communication skills to engage with students effectively.Adapt to changes and multitask efficiently in a dynamic educational environment.Foster a motivating and supportive learning environment for students.Utilize your passion for working with kids to inspire and empower young minds.Maintain information on the students to share with teachers and school administration.Requirements:Bachelor's degree preferable in education or higher A minimum of 2 years of reading intervention experience in small group setting (student teaching and practicum excluded from timing noted)Certification for English/ELA - middle school needed (reading certification welcomed)Available 11.5 hours a week, scheduled between the hours 8:30 - 12:30 p.m.Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students.Ability to work with students to help them understand the subject material.Dependable and committed to maintaining a consistent schedule.Reliable transportationWithin 30 minutes from Newark, DE area Why join us?At Back to Basics Learning Dynamics, we value the power of education and believe in the transformative impact of personalized instruction.
