Position: Physical Therapist Reports to: President & CEOGeneral Function: The Physical Therapist (PT) is primarily responsible for delivery of water therapy/exercise services with clients including evaluation, treatment, and consultation with clients and client families or staff within the rules and regulations governing the therapists national licensure or licensure in the State of Missouri. She/he reports directly to the President & CEO and works in a cooperative relationship with all other members of the office staff and multi-disciplinary team. Position Requirements include:Current national licensure or licensure in the State of Missouri in physical therapy. Current CPR and first aid certification required. Prefer lifeguard certification. Certification in aquatic therapy preferred. Certification in aquatic therapy, water safety, adaptive aquatics, or similar training preferred.Maintains any certifications held or earned. Essential Functions: Performing initial interviews with clients, water abilities and skills evaluations, and additional client specific assessments. Documents the initial interview and water abilities & skills evaluation by the established deadline. Documents SOAP notes, aqua plans, and necessary charges weekly. Documents progressive evaluations on a quarterly basis. Provides other documentation necessary for funding sources. Able to work with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and E-mail computer software programs. Monitors safety and cleanliness of pool equipment at pools. Communicates to families, clients, support staff in regards to the aquatic treatment plan and the clients plan of care. Maintains a caseload each session based on the clients abilities, availability and the facility availability. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Performs aquatic exercise or therapy in the pool with clients including both 1:1 water exercise/therapy or group exercise or performs land exercise/therapy as needed; completes necessary documentation by established deadlines. Attends necessary meetings as needed and additional assigned duties. Responsible for training client families and support staff in the operation of the dressing area and equipment. Will perform dressing duties in emergency situations. Able to communicate with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to develop programs, conduct research, teach workshops, and mentor students. Other responsibilities as will be assigned from time to time. Effect on End Results: This position is primarily concerned with ensuring the quality of care, safety, and water therapy/exercise for ShowMe Aquatics and Fitness occurring on a daily basis.
