The Medicine Treatment Clinic (MTC) provides various clinics including the Adult Diabetes Clinic, Adult Asthma Clinic, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Clinic (COPD), Foot Clinic (Chiropody), Internal Medicine Clinic, Infusion Clinic, Integrated Regional Falls Clinic, Stroke Prevention Clinic, and the Urgent Geriatric Clinic.This role will see the successful candidate have multiple work locations, which include: The Royal Victoria Hospital Main Campus at 201 Georgian Drive Barrie and the RVH Health & Wellness Clinics at the Rizzardo Centre at 7325 Young Street Innisfil. The location of work will be assigned based on the shift and needs of clinics.The RVH Health and Wellness Clinics (Rizzardo Center) provides various clinics including, Medicine Treatment Clinics, Child & Youth Ambulatory Clinics, Cardiorespiratory Clinics and Mental Health & Wellness Clinics. There is also anticipation that additional clinics will continue to be accommodated at the RVH Health and Wellness Centre in Innisfil.As the Patient Services Clerk you will be is responsible for reception, patient registration, bookings, appointment communication, and supporting the daily needs of the clinic. As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:Medical Office Administration Certificate/Diploma or Equivalent Program essentialOffice administration experience in a hospital clinic environmentComputer literacy - Microsoft Office essential II. Keyboarding skills 50wpm essentialExperience with an electronic medical record (EMR), order entry and appointment schedulingCurrent experience in the processing of physicians orders an assetDemonstrated commitment to customer service skillsDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively using both oral and written format with patients, families, public, colleagues and other members of the interprofessional teamDemonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable to a changing work environmentDemonstrated ability to prioritize and function effectively in a busy environmentDemonstrated problem-solving ability and organizational skillsInternet skills to effectively & efficiently navigate various websites to assist with collecting accurate provider informationDemonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Demonstrated ability to function in a multi-task environmentDemonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentialityDemonstrated commitment to ongoing learningYou are ideal for this position if you have:Customer Service skillsConfidence and patience dealing with public while multi-tasking,Professional business and telephone mannerisms requiredExcellent and effective communication with various types of personalities with varying stages of physical and mental health/aging/capabilities
