Job Purpose: Assists patients and healthcare providers by providing clinical and business office assistance.Duties: Welcomes patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone Verify patient by confirming their name and date of birth Prepare patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room Perform preliminary physical tests; take blood pressure, weight and temperature; report patient history summary Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential Counsel patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about procedures Educate patients by providing medication and procedure information and instructions; answering questions Maintain safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock and placing orders Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance and notifying administration for repairs Enhance practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments Complete records at every visit by correctly recording patient information Produce the prescription(s) correctly as ordered by the medical provider and providing them to the patient Obtaining pertinent reports such as imaging, labs, test results and presenting them to the medical provider Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential Serve and protect the physician or healthcare provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirements and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standardsSkills/Qualifications:Clinical Skills, Creating a Safe, Effective Environment, Health Promotion and Maintenance, Hospital Environment, Procedural Skills, Documentation Skills, Verbal Communication, Inventory Control, Planning, Dependability, Medical Teamwork, Medical terminology experience is welcomed, but not necessary.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $16.00 - $20.00 per hourBenefits: 401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offProfit sharingVision insurance Schedule: Day shiftMonday to Friday Work setting: In-person Experience: EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: BLS Certification (Preferred)Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred) Work Location: In person
