Position: Junior Development AssociateReports to: Development DirectorJob Supervision Duty: NonePart-TimeAbout Us: Fathers Uplift is the countrys first mental health and substance abuse treatment facility for fathers and families, helping fathers become and remain emotionally stable for their children. Fathers' UpLift uses peer coaching, father-child therapy, training, youth programs, and support for incarcerated and recently released fathers to honor and rehabilitate the relationship between thousands of fathers and families in the Boston area. In their outpatient clinic, over 800 fathers and families receive mental health services each year from clinicians trained in trauma who reflect the population being served. Outside of the clinic, Fathers' UpLift partners with community centers, substance abuse programs, and other agencies to build a holistic approach to helping fathers rebuild their lives and their relationship with their families.About the role: The Junior Development Associate is an equipped multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. Candidates will assist management and the Development Team by researching grant opportunities; engaging in correspondence with and sending materials to donors and grantors; contributing to Fathers UpLifts content planning, creation, and implementation; writing copy for grant applications and reports; and helping in other aspects of Development as needed.Additionally, the Junior Development Associate supports the planning and coordination of donor engagement events such the Annual Vision Dinner. The Junior Development Associate typically reports and works directly with the Development Director to ensure all tasks are executed quickly. They also perform clerical and office duties; these may include pulling reports, creating spreadsheets and documents for the recording of donor activity and engagement, and other documentation on behalf of the Development Team. The Junior Development Associate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and well-organized skills. Key Responsibilities Write and/or provide supporting material for private grant requests and proposals. Write and/or provide supporting material for city, state, and federal grant requests and proposals Meet all grant reporting requirements with written updates and impact measurements In coordination with the Development Team, maintain a monthly pipeline of at least One private grant $100,000 One govt grant $100,000 2-3 private and/or govt grants $10,000 - $99,999 Research grant opportunities on Foundation Directory Online on a monthly basis Coordinate with development team on site visits and grantor engagement Help Development Director with donor engagement, including: 1) maintenance of a portfolio of high-networth individuals (HNWIs) and major donors, 2) major donor engagement campaigns conducted 2-4 times a year, 3) Christmas and Fathers Day holiday pushes, 4) and personal contact (by handwritten letters, emails, and/or phone calls) on at least a twice-annual basis. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of donor databases by ensuring that all information is kept current and up to date.
