Marina Assistant

Full-time, seasonal marina assistant/dock hand position offered at Toba Wilderness Marina. We are a remote, off-grid marina located on the mainland at the mouth of Toba Inlet, the nearest communities are Refuge Cove, Squirrel Cove and Lund. Transportation to and from the marina is provided, as well as on-site accommodation and a daily food stipend for making meals. Work hours vary depending on boaters' occupancy, between 6-10 hours a day. Days off vary depending on boaters' occupancy, and the candidates desire to accumulate more days worked. Day rate is $150. Marina assistant works closely with the full-time, year-round Caretakers/Marina managers on the dock and on the upland property. Dock duties include: Communicating with boaters via VHF, greeting and tying up boaters, maintaining and cleaning the docks, disposing of boaters' garbage and recycling. Property duties include: Lawn and landscaping maintenance, trail clearing and general labour assistance.
