We are the longest continuously operating law firm in Kansas, and we are looking for a motivated individual to join our law firm. Your role would be to assist firm attorneys meet client needs. This position will include general secretarial duties and administrative support, client interaction, answering phones, managing multiple calendars, scheduling, managing files and document preparation. To be successful in this role, you must possess a high degree of personal integrity.Duties & Responsibilities:Provide legal support to attorneys and other legal staff as needed.Meets with attorneys and clients to discuss assigned cases or projects.Assist in drafting legal documents including routine letters, pleadings, motions, affidavits, and interrogatories. Proofread and reformat as requested with accuracy and attention to detail.Print and organize case materials, exhibits, pleadings, and correspondence.E-File pleadings according to local judicial procedures.Prepare, organize, store and retrieve case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits and other items.Assists attorneys with trial preparation.Maintain calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, meetings, calls, and hearings.Organize meetings, deliveries, court reporters, witnesses, and other special functions.Ensure the highest level of client satisfaction by responding in a timely manner to all client calls, questions and inquiries.Track and enter all billable hours on a daily basis.Responsible for other duties as assigned.Job Requirements:Minimum of two years of relevant experience.Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion and good judgment.Demonstrates strong multi-tasking and time management skills, ability to successfully prioritize, willingness to seek clarification, guidance, and training when necessary, and commitment to teamwork and collaboration.Commitment to teamwork by establishing and maintaining good working relationships with clients, attorneys, and office colleagues.Must be computer literate and show proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to; Word, Excel and Outlook applications.Proficiency in the use of computers and other office equipment including copier, fax, scanner, printer and multi-line phones.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team.Analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written skills and ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and concisely.Ability to follow oral and written instructions.Must be proactive, make the effort to anticipate a situation in advance to either prepare for it or prevent it.Demonstrate dependability by consistently being at work and on time.Pay starting at $20 an hour but is determined upon qualifications and ability. This is a part-time role with flexible hours during our regular operating time of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday- Friday.
