Upload Resume Here: https://forms.gle/DGXuGb96ZXFgpz9g8Laboratory Technologist-Waltham, MaThis position is responsible for performing high-complexity CLIA testing in day-to-day operations of the laboratory.Responsibilities: Responsible for specimen processing and test performance:Performs only those high complexity tests that are authorized by the Laboratory Director and require a degree of skill commensurate with the individuals education, training or experience, and technical abilities.Each individual performing high complexity testing must:Follow the laboratorys procedure for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintain records of patient test results.Adhere to the laboratorys quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.Follow the laboratorys established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratorys established acceptable levels of performance.Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, Clinical Consultant, or Laboratory Director.Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratorys established performance specifications.Except as specified in the qualifications, perform high complexity testing only under the onsite direct supervision of a qualified Supervisor. Requirements: Hold a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science the degree program shall have included a one-year structured clinical laboratory experience; orHold a Bachelor of Science Degree in a chemical, physical or biological science and have at least one year of relevant full-time laboratory experience and/or training subsequent to graduation in the specialty or subspecialty in which the individual performs tests; orHave successfully completed three years of academic study in an accredited college or university, which met the specific requirements for entrance into a school of medical laboratory science accredited by an accrediting agency approved by the Department and have successfully completed a course of training of at least 12 months in such a school which included relevant clinical laboratory experience.Current certification or eligible with ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) as an MLS Medical Laboratory Scientist, MT Medical Technologist, MLT-Medical Laboratory Technician, MB- Molecular Biology or specialist, is preferred.
