ACET is actively seeking a motivated Lab Coordinator to support a lab located in Monterey, CA.Salary Range: $85,000.00 To 90,000.00 AnnuallyThe successful candidate will have excellent oral, analytical and written communication skills with the ability work independently within the framework of established regulations and guidelines with accuracy, technical soundness and conformity to policy and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the laboratory.Research, design and develop various aspects of educational and technical research laboratory experiences for HSI program requirements to include oversight of the maintenance, and repair of relevant test equipment, research specific software, and supplies.Become the technical expert on simulators in the lab, provide demonstrations during lab tours and train students and researchers on their use as needed.Provide technical expertise to researchers and train students in laboratory procedures and equipment, including the wet lab.Assist with data collection in both lab and field settings, data entry and analysis for Human Systems Integration (HSI) projects using Microsoft Excel. Responsibilities include transcribing notes from field exercises, assist in analyses using JMP and other related statistical software.Support data collection efforts by preparing and packing all necessary equipment/supplies for field research.Assist in the research, design, develop, and execution of various educational and technical support contracts that serve the HSI program.Assist with drafting and review technical and sponsor reports.Assist with literature reviews and annotated bibliographies as required.Travel up to 20% per year to domestic and international destinations for data collection.Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Requirements:Must have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Knowledge of research methods; report writing techniques; statistical concepts and methods; and general Internet and electronic communications. Experience with statistical software, and ability to learn and adapt current procedures to new software.Knowledge of or ability to learn NPS instructional and program objectives, policies, procedures, and pertinent regulatory requirements pertaining to graduate education.Ability to work independently within the framework of established regulations and guidelines with accuracy, technical soundness and conformity to policy and procedures.Must be able to produce accurate and timely work in a busy, fast-paced environment where some of the workload will be cyclical and heavy at times.Skilled in oral and written communication to successfully coordinate with others and to respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff at NPS.The candidate must be fully proficient in office software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and can learn other applications used by NPS for academic administration.Experience in human subjects research. Background in laboratory research utilizing software and equipment required for human subjects testing.Bachelors degree required; behavioral science, human factors or experimental psychology (or related field) desired.
