We provide expertise in ground engineering and tunnel excavation with qualified personnel.STRABAG is actively seeking a Junior Contracts Administrator for our Canadian division where he/she can utilize their knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization. The successful candidate will work at the main office and/or on-site.Job Summary:The Junior Contract Administrator will assist the Senior Contracts Manager in managing the subcontracts and other contractual tasks in accordance with the Company policies and procedures. He/she will have an adequate understanding of contracting principles and construction law and experience in the field of contract management in construction.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare and issue subcontracting agreements and modifications, including change orders, change directives and amendments.Review and finalize monthly payment certificates with subcontractors.Assist in preparing claims and additional work requests; liaise with scheduler and cost controller.Assist in the coordination and preparation of all contractual correspondence and submittals.Prepare, review, and administer subcontracts of various types.Assist with reviewing policies and procedures to facilitate contract terms.Review and manage subcontracts and assist other team members with compliance with specifications/requirements as stipulated.Assist in maintaining contractual correspondence within the document management system.Assist in the measurement of work progress and preparation of reports.Prepare and maintain subcontract/main contract registers/logs.Participate in proposals and tenders for new projects.Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned.Knowledge and Skills:Effective communication and negotiation skills.Excellent oral and written English skills essential.Commitment to ethical business conduct and trust with sensitive information.Good organizational skills with keen attention to detail.Knowledge of local construction laws and practices.Self-motivated, persistent, and flexible, team player.Qualifications:Minimum 1+ years experience in contract and/ or subcontract management/administration in the construction industry.Construction background required.Bachelors degree in either Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Law, or similar.Knowledge of standard Canadian construction law/regulations.You will work in a motivated team and quickly gain a foothold through a well-structured induction period.
