About the Firm: Elder Law of East Tennessee is a law firm that specializes in Life Care Planning with a focus on Elder and Special Needs Law.Position Overview: The Intake Specialist is the primary point of contact for new callers seeking services at ELET. Primary duties are conducting thorough screening calls (intake calls) with new callers; scheduling consultations for attorneys; communicating with the caller about how to prepare for their consultation; serving as the primary point of contact for prospective clients prior to their consultation; and collecting data about intake calls for firm metrics.This position is 34 hours per week Monday through Thursday with a 30-minute or 60-minute lunch break. The primary duties of this position have the potential to be performed remotely after completing a minimum six (6) months in-office onboarding process.Benefits & Salary: Generous benefits package includes 401(k) with safe harbor contribution, health insurance, long and short-term disability, life insurance, paid time off, several paid firmwide holidays/closures per year, continuing legal education and professional association memberships and dues, notary bond and expenses, and mileage reimbursement. Communicate with prospective clients about paperwork and other documentation and set expectations for their meeting with the attorney.Open prospective cases in Actionstep case management software.Document and track intake calls using firm systems and software.Make referrals to other law firms/professional resources as appropriate.Prospective Client Follow-Up:Check in via phone call and/or email with prospective clients after having a consultation with an attorney to address follow-up questions and facilitate retention.Communicate with consulting attorneys on any follow-up questions regarding prospective clients.Obtain essential file opening paperwork from prospective clients.Medicare CounselingExperience not required; extensive training and support will be provided by Elder Law of East Tennessee.Meet with clients to discuss optimal Medicare plan options.Advocate with Medicare to pursue appeals and reach favorable outcomes.
