ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATIONKeep Alachua County Beautiful (KACB) is a (501)(c)(3) organization that is an affiliate of thenational organization Keep America Beautiful. Our mission is to beautify, conserve resources,recycle, educate and preserve our communitys environmental legacy. We accomplish thisthrough a variety of educational and hands-on events throughout the year, including an adopt-a-road program, litter and graffiti abatement opportunities, community gardens, and after-school environmental programs.Our organization has earned the Keep America Beautiful Presidents Circle Recognition Awardevery single year since we began in 1991. We currently have 19 Board of Directors throughoutthe Alachua County communities that represent a wide range of professions includingtransportation planners, historic preservationists, attorneys, accountants, small businessowners, environmental and energy specialists and interested citizens.ABOUT THE POSITIONKACB is looking for an energetic and dynamic leader to be the Executive Director of theorganization, and who will collaboratively work with the diverse Board of Directors to robustlydevelop the membership program, effective advocacy platforms, and create stronger allianceswith other government agencies and community leaders.The Executive Director is responsible for creating an atmosphere in which volunteers and staffcan successfully meet the objectives of the organizations mission. This action-orientedprofessional is responsible for day-to-day leadership, financial management, and growth of theorganization. A successful Executive Director will ensure organizational financial sustainability,maintain a reputation for excellence, and identify opportunities for mission-related impact inthe community.Key responsibilities include providing leadership to the Board, staff and volunteers, lead theexecution of strategic revenue plans, nurture the ongoing development of an engaged andhigh-performing board, position KACB as an effective, vital and necessary conservationorganization, oversee promotional and communication strategies, and establish policies andprocedures for the day-to-day functions and operations of the full time staff.The starting salary for this position will be in the range of $40-$45k, with the potential forincrease with experience and through positive annual performance evaluations.JOB QUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate will have: 2-4 years of working with a professional non-profit organization, with a clear record ofachievement in a mission-driven organization. A bachelors degree in business, public administration, communications, planning,environmental sciences, sustainability, forestry, or similar. An advanced degree is a plus. Proven record of success in a fundraising leadership role, particularly in establishingrelationships with individuals and organizations of influence including funders, partneragencies, and volunteers. Experience with grant applications and management, and other resource developmentstrategies necessary for successful non-profits. Strong management skills including budget preparation, decision making, and reporting. The ability to coordinate, lead and inspire large groups of volunteers. The ability to plan, market, and execute public events. Ability to be a passionate spokesperson/representative of KACBs mission.
