Senior Electronics Engineering Technician Summary: The Sr. Electronic Engineering Technician will work in a fast-paced environment. They will work as a team member within a group of highly talented Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality personnel. The individual will be responsible for assisting the design engineering team with DVT and board bring-ups, including assisting in building prototype products and performing various electrical and environmental tests. Other responsibilities will include incoming product inspections, product rework and updates, as well as manufacturing and shipping support. The ability to multi-task is essential. This individual will have good organizational, analytical, and numerical skills. This individual will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They must work well with other departments to help ensure that deadlines are met, and objectives are achieved. Duties/Responsibilities: Assembles prototype models based on engineering documentation and guidance from Engineers. Provide direct support to design engineers during product DVT (Design Verification Testing). Set up standard test apparatus or test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of prototypes and production models under the guidance of an Engineer. Carry out product inspections and document findings following QA guidance. Analyzes and interprets test data and identifies the next steps to be taken. Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components, along with recording effects on device performance. Writes basic technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and basic schematics to describe and illustrate an items operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations. Verifies functionality of newly designed product performance under actual operating conditions. Performs electrical and mechanical assembly of factory test station equipment. Performs basic failure analysis, records results, and provides corrective actions. Runs experiments under the guidance of an engineer. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to solder small wires and larger SMT components to PC Boards Ability to use measuring and diagnostic equipment, such as DVMs, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers Understanding of failure analysis, corrective, and preventative action techniques Solid knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint Excellent verbal and written skills. Excellent workmanship skills Ability to perform tests and keep accurate records Ability to learn new technologies and techniques. Education and Experience: Associate degree or 3 plus years experience of equivalent technical work General understanding of electrical principles and terminology Experience with electrical laboratory measurement equipment a plus. Ability to solder surface mount components.
