Initially, this will be a flexible position, partially remote and partially in office, but will eventually be fully in office. Attitude and personality fit is more important than experience. We provide many opportunities for personal and professional growth and fun in a collaborative and dynamic environment.Job Purpose: Advising and providing legal services to clients, including drafting estate plans, correspondence, and court documents, representing clients in court proceedings and litigation if necessary; providing work support to elder law attorney and paralegal team; supervising legal assistant and support staff.Duties:* Provides support to legal team by drafting estate plans, pleadings, affidavits, contracts, and correspondence, attending court and administrative proceedings, conducting legal research.*Meets with clients, assesses new matters and develops strategies, applies legal theories to client issues, executes plan.* Obtains and retains clients by following-up on referrals; maintaining rapport; speaking at community events; networking.* Keeps clients abreast of estate planning, probate, and elder law developments.* Develops estate plans by drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives; supervises legal assistants in document preparation.* Represents clients in probate and real property matters by attending court proceedings; advises fiduciaries regarding standards, duties, and record keeping responsibilities.* Participates in multiple areas of elder law practice, including trust and estate, real property law, public benefits, contract law, tax issues, probate and guardianship proceedings, Medicaid crisis planning, and long term care planning.* Maintains cost standards by monitoring expenses; recommending cost-saving opportunities.* Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes.* Participates in educational opportunities and professional organizations.* Accomplishes law firm goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.Skills/Qualifications: Experience or ability and motivation to learn Elder Law, Real Property Law, Financial and Estate Planning and Strategy, Long Term Care Planning, Probate and Guardianship, and Litigation (when necessary); Verbal Communication; Written Communication; Developing and Maintaining Client Relationships; Resolving Conflict; Legal and Administrative Writing Skills; Working Well With Staff and Clients; Client Confidentiality and Attorney Ethics; Performing within Deadlines and Under Pressure; Team Participation.
