This is a full-time position. Hours can vary week to week depending on demand. Located in Long Beach, training takes place outdoors or at client's home.Professional Dog Trainer Certification completion, CCPDT or equivalentPrior hands-on experience working with / handling / pack walking dogsLIMA capable (Least intrusive minimally aversive)Knowledge of canine behavior and force-free dog training methodsKnowledge of behavioral learning theoryAbility to teach assistants and clients with respect, honesty and mindfulnessClean driving record and current driver's licenseRequirements & Skills:Authorization to work in the United StatesEmployment agreementNon-compete, non-disclosure agreementCriminal background checkShow up on time, at the correct location and dress appropriately (long pants and closed toe comfortable shoes).Dependable transportation to work siteDog Trainer Certification and/or dog reactivity experience and/or pack walking experienceAble to lift 45 poundsPhysically able to work with multiple energetic puppies and dogs of varying sizesPhysically able to walk with a pack of dogs for at least two hoursProficient with Smart phone features: texting, picture & video, posting on Instagram, Facebook, etc.Proficient in managing calendar schedule of appointmentsand work dutiesSafety:Ensure a safe environment for the dogs under your careNever leave dogs unattendedUse good judgement when interacting with a dogDuties:Work with other trainers trainer in all daily activities including, but not limited to:Pick up & drop off canine students from home, sanitize and maintain vehicleManage clients communication, accounts, notes, communications and recommendationsSet up and break down of all training equipmentEnsure collars and leashes are properly fittedTeach clients and dogs basic, intermediate and advanced skillsTeach clients and dogs American Kennel Club Certification curriculumTake pictures and videosMay be required to transport dogs in personal vehicleLead and/or assist clients to teach them skills taught in schoolLead and/or assist with group dog training classes and workshopsManage a group of clients and their dogs, report cards and communication
