Typical Work Week: 30 40+ hours Typical Salary: $15-$16 Commensurate with Experience Position Summary: The dish and general utility position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for linen, china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility. Primary Responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering.Sort and stack clean dishes & glassware. Carries clean dishes to proper storage areas.Change dishwater water in dish machine every hour.Wash large items and trays by hand.Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.Set up or break down dishwashing area.Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.Sweep/mop floors.Assemble/disassemble dish machine.Sweep up trash around exterior of building and garbage dumpster.General warehouse, office and restroom cleaning as directed.Wipe up any spills to ensure dish washroom floors remain dry.Wash & dry linen and chair covers in commercial laundry machine.Other duties as directed.Physical Requirements:Walks and stands during entire shift.Lift and carry racks or stacks of dishes, glassware, and other utensils, weighing up to 30 lbs., up to 50 times per shift.Lift and empty trash cans weighing up to 50 lbs., with assistance, up to two times per shift.Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and lifting.Work indoors 90%; outdoors 10%.Work in a hot, damp environment.Hazards include, but are not limited to, cuts from broken glass and metal cans, burns, slipping and tripping.Frequent washing of hands.Knowledge and Skills:Must be able to read labels on chemicals.Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.Transportation Requirements:Must have valid Driver's License and own reliable transportation.Experience:Dishwashing: 1 year (Preferred)Warehouse: 1 year (Preferred)Education:High school or equivalent (Required)License:Driver's License (Required)Work authorization:United States (Required)
