The Director of HSYMs responsibilities include:Developingandimplementingasystematicandintentionalplanforadolescentcatechesisthatutilizesacreative variety of formats, settings, and timeframesProvidingresourcesforeffectiveprogrammingProvidingappropriatetrainingfortheadultsandyoungpeopleinleadershippositionsProvideappropriateservicesandprogramsforparentsofyouthServingasliaisonwiththediocesanOfficeofYouth,YoungAdult,andCampusMinistryandtheirprograms, services, and resourcesManagetheregistrationprocessforallhighschoolandyoungadultactivities,includingannualregistrations, retreats, service activities, mission trips, conferencesManagethesafeenvironmentcomplianceofHSministryvolunteersCoordinatingtheoutreachtoandevangelizationofyouthandyoungadultsCoordinatingtheimplementationofretreatsforhighschoolyouthCoordinatingyouthandvolunteerparticipationinconferencesandmissiontripsCreateandmaintainbudgetforHSandYoungAdultministry;purchasesuppliesCoordinatingrelationalministryeffortswithadultvolunteers,foryouthMarketingandcommunicationofHS&YAministryactivitiesviasocialmedia,YMwebsite,textmessagesResponsibilitiessharedwiththeDirectorofMiddleSchoolYouthMinistry:Collaboratewithstaff,volunteersandcouncilstosupporttheongoing,long-termstrategicvisioningofyouth ministryAsayouthministryteam,reviewthevisionandprogrammingopportunitiesregularlytoaddressthechanging needs of youth and their families in accord with the parish mission and visionFosteringtheinvolvementofyouthinthelifeoftheparish,includingparticipationinparishministriesand eventsCo-coordinatingtherecruitment,training,andsupportingofyouthministryvolunteersQUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Therequirementslistedbelowarerepresentativeoftheknowledge,skill,abilityorphysicaldemands required.Reasonableaccommodationsmaybemadetoenableindividualswithdisabilitiestoperformtheessential functions of the position.Educationand/orExperience:Bachelorsdegreeintheology,pastoralministryorarelatedfield,knowledgeofCatholic teaching, catechesis and documents on youth ministryLanguageskills:Strongverbalandwrittencommunicationskills;proficiencyincomposingreports,correspondenceand letters and in publishing e-newsletters and flyers in English, ability to develop and facilitate youth programs; ability to read and understand church documents and guidelines.ComputationalSkills:Abilitytoread,prepare,andmanagebudgetsformajoreventsandprograms;prepareannual budget for youth ministry.ReasoningAbility:Abilitytosolveproblems,makesounddecisions,anddealwithavarietyofconcretevariables.TechnicalSkills:ProficiencyinWord,Excel,andMicrosoftOfficeCertificates,Licenses,Registrations:BeaclearedadultaccordingtotheDioceseofDallasSafeEnvironmentpolicies.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to transport materials and equipment (up to 25 pounds) to and from various locations. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periodsoftime,usehandsinrepetitivemotiontasks,handleobjects,talkandhear.Specificvisionabilitiesrequired include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.PhysicalEnvironment:Theemployeewillworkinan office with a door.Thenoiselevelisusuallyquiet.Thespaceiswheelchair accessible. The employee will also work at off-site locations for various ministry events.Working Conditions:The employee must schedule office time in order to complete tasks and meet with staff and parishioners.Theemployeemustbeabletoworkcooperativelywithothermembersofthestaffandwithyouthleaders and volunteers. The employee must be able to set priorities, work toward goals and deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.Other Requirements:The employee must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church.The employeemusthaveknowledgeofChurchstructureandculture.Theemployeemusthaveknowledgeofcurrentyouth culture and current trends and issues within those cultures. Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality, develop curriculum and maintain documentation.
