Director of Academics

True North K12 Learning is a Director of Academics for the 2024-2025 Academic Year to direct a K-12 educational program for students who are considered high risk and/or have special needs. The student to teacher ratio is at most 3:2. This position begins September 2024. True North students attend from 9:00am to 1:30pm Monday through Friday following the Rensselaer City Schools Academic Calendar.The rate of pay is $45 per hour, M-F 8am to 2pm each day.This position is a sub-contractor position and does not include benefits such as health insurance or retirement incentives.Qualifications and Responsibilities: NYS Teaching Certification and/or Administrative experience preferred. Candidates with experience with NYS K-12 curriculum and experience working with high risk and/or special needs children at the Primary and Secondary School Level preferred. Ability to easily build rapport with students and staff and to think creatively. Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
