Parents and teachers love seeing boys and girls thrive with our age-appropriate friendly music, dance choreography, fun fitness, playful movements, and imaginative activities while the children build self-esteem and self-confidence.Kinderdance programs are designed to be an integral part of a preschoolers school day and afterschool childs schedule. Many of our programs take place where childrens other learning occurs, in child care facilities. Additional teaching locations can be found in other numerous venues such as local community centers.Kinderdance programs blend educational concepts with various forms of movement, dance, and gymnastics. The programs help develop gross motor skills, movement creativity, fitness, and body awareness. Each class is taught using lesson plans which incorporate original and traditional age-appropriate music and songs.Kinderdance Columbus is looking for someone with a big personality to join the team!This position is structured as an apprenticeship with the intention of building to a lead teacher role. During your apprenticeship, you will assist and train under our certified Kinderdance teachers for a minimum of 6 weeks or maximum of 8 weeks, until you are fully prepared to teach your own classes. During this time, candidates are expected to observe and learn the Kinderdance patented curriculum and multiple dance routines via combination of classroom apprenticeship and an online training portal. Candidates must be able to clearly demonstrate memorization of Kinderdance teaching techniques, classroom structure and dance routines in order to be considered for the lead teacher role. The apprenticeship position will pay $17 per hour. This position is fully intended for training purposes to grow into a lead teacher role and may be retracted should the candidate not meet mutually agreed upon set expectations during or by the end of the apprenticeship period which is a minimum of 6 weeks or maximum of 8 weeks. A *typical class block in morning, afternoon or evening will consist of 2x 30 minute classes, 15 minute pre-class, 15 minute transition and 15 minute post-class for total 1.75 hours/$29.75 per class block. (*typical, but not guaranteed)Once the candidate has shown a proven ability to effectively teach children educational and movement concepts, conduct classes without assistance and memorize multiple dance routines, they will be promoted to a lead teacher role and be responsible for their own weekly classes on designated days and times.A lead teacher will teach beginning dance classes to children age 2 as well as ages 3-5, and potentially gymnastics or child-friendly yoga for ages 3-5 depending on your experience and availability. There is a syllabus so you will have a guide to help with daily class activities. Once promoted to lead teacher, the position will pay $30 per hour and you will be compensated for each 30 minute class as well as 15 minutes before and after class start time. A *typical class block in morning, afternoon or evening will consist of 2x 30 minute classes, 15 minute pre-class, 15 minute transition and 15 minute post-class for total 1.75 hours/$52.50 per class block. (*typical, but not guaranteed) This position requires continuing education either with your supervisor or via our online training portal.What Kinderdance Columbus is looking for:Dance training and experience teaching young children (ages 2-5). *Please be advised, experience with children ages 2-5 is considered over any technical dance background.You are responsible for an annual background check and FBI Fingerprinting Check ($65-$80 annually), CPR/First Aid for Children certification ($75-$100 every 2 years) and annual health physical, and must be able to supply these items before the start of the apprenticeship role.Ability to learn and memorize multiple dance routines and welcome continuing education throughout your role with Kinderdance ColumbusLove being around this age and have the ability to direct or re-direct their attention.Love to get random hugs during class and always consider the needs of their age group and how you can help make a difference in their early lives.This is a mobile job. You will be traveling to preschool and rec-center locations in the Greater Columbus area.
