Cooking Instructor

Position Description:Lunch Bunch offers fresh, flexible, and fun school lunch programs and culinary-based enrichments for kids of all ages. We are committed to being more than a food service provider - we are an organization that is actively committed to our community and doing mission-led work to make great food and nutrition accessible to all.We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Instructor to join our Enrichments team. As a Cooking Instructor for youth participants, you will create positive, nurturing relationships with children. You will promote and support the potential of all youth in our programs/classes and facilitate peer-to-peer connections in the overall program experience. Responsibilities:Lead class for students based on the weekly curriculum. This includes leading crafts, cultural immersion lessons, a cooking demonstration, and assisting students with their recipes.Teach basic cooking techniques, kitchen safety and sanitation, and proper food handling that build their skill and confidence.Provide feedback after each lesson and communicate any issues from the classroom.You will promote and support the potential of all youth in our programs/classes and facilitate peer-to-peer connections & group learning.Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of participants in the program by always providing appropriate supervision.Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces the inclusion of all participants.Understand and communicate the Lunch Bunchs core values and goals.Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces the inclusion of all participantsUnderstand and communicate Lunch Bunchs core values and goals Requirements:Instructors must have a current California Food Handlers Permit (or completed within 30 days of the hire date)Previous experience working with childrenMust pass a background check, including sex offender search, criminal search, and national watchlist search.TB Immunization requiredAdditional background checks & immunizations vary depending on the school Pay:$35-$50 / Hour
