Construction Services Technician

Legacy Engineering, P.C., is a small, woman-owned civil engineering firm specializing in land development design, geotechnical services, construction materials testing and inspections along with surveying and consulting. We are headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia and proudly serve clients throughout the Commonwealth.As a Construction Services Technician, you will be traveling to various construction sites to perform basic soil and concrete tests under the direction of project managers and other engineering professionals to verify that the contractor's work is performed in accordance with project specifications.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections on soils, reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry.Prepare detailed reports (written and with a computer) and accurate test results based on field observations. This documentation will be submitted on a daily basisAbility to communicate with clients, contractors, and project managers regarding jobsite issues or concerns.Show up on time for scheduled work and communicate to managers when work is cancelled for reassignment.Safely use and maintain testing equipmentObtain and maintain required certifications to perform required testsAny other tasks assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDPrevious construction of field-testing experience (Preferred)Ability to multi-taskMust be able to work independently and with a teamAbility to read/interpret plans, specifications and procedure manualsAbility to draft routine reports with set deadlinesMust be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basisMust maintain a safe driving record along with a valid drivers license to fulfill travel requirements of this positionMust have reliable transportationSense of ownership/pride in your performance & impact on company's successTravel to job sites throughout Fredericksburg and surrounding counties will be requiredThis is a full time position with hours Monday to Friday between 7am to 5pmBenefits7 Paid Holidays15 days of PTOCompany paid Health insurance for employee, short and long term disability and basic life insuranceDental and Vision insuranceParental leave policy401k plan with generous company matchingJob Type: Full-timePay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
