Position SummaryThis position is responsible for assisting the Project Superintendent on several or one small, medium or large size project. Provides assistance to Project leadership team in managing and driving all schedule related activities, relationship building with AHJs, and technical questions required for successful delivery of a project. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or as necessary. This individual will be provided focused training and opportunities to grow into a larger role within the organization depending on the individuals capacity and drive. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Communicates clearly and reinforces True North Mission, Values and Vision Responsible for promoting and enforcing safety to all project team members, trade partners, owners, designers, the public and anyone that come in contact with our projects under the direction of the Project Superintendent. Responsible for assisting all field staff with necessary means to enforce all company safety guidelines that go above and beyond OSHA standards. Responsible for following the Zero Tolerance Safety Standard and setting an example to the entire project team and subcontractors / vendors. Responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of fast-track schedule and understanding of the status of all key components on daily basis under direction of the Project Superintendent. Assist total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, government officials, other contractors, etc. Under the direction of the Project Superintendent communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, fellow employees). Assist in maintaining relationships with all stakeholders to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved under the direction of the Project Superintendent. Clearly understand all facets of the assigned Project (s) working closely with Project Superintendent and other team members to clearly understand how the Project was estimated including the overall project schedule, basis of estimate, labor and resource constraints, job cost allocation, subcontract awards, purchase orders and overall scope of work and specifications for a Project including all inclusions and exclusions, and value engineering options if any Assist Project Superintendent and other team members in working closely with local inspection departments to develop a good working relationship and understand any and all local requirements that may impact the successful delivery of a project Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising onsite functions at the direction of the Project Superintendent (scheduling, material control and may provide day-to-day direction of project administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc. Assist in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc. Assist in ensuring compliance with established procedures. Provide technical assistance, (i.e. interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc.) as required. Must be willing to travel and work weekends if required. Skills and Abilities Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation May be required to use a laptop computer and be familiar with Windows based applications such as Word, Excel, scheduling, and job costing software Must have valid driver's license and good driving record. Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Education and Experience RequirementsMinimum of 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
