About this roleAs the Accounting Manager at Writer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the company's financial health and success. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and managing accounts payable and receivables. With your expertise, you'll provide valuable insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive the company's growth.Reporting to the head of finance, the accounting manager will supervise the accounting function, which currently has one full-time employee, and provide timely, accurate, and useful accounts. ‍♀️ Your responsibilitiesOversee and manage all accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecastingWe analyze financial data and prepare financial statements, reports, and presentationsDevelop and implement accounting policies and proceduresManage accounts payable and receivableReconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial recordsPrepare and file tax returnsProviding financial advice and guidance to managementWork with external auditors and other financial professionalsKeep current on accounting standards and best practicesIdentify and mitigate financial risksSupervise and scale accounting team⭐️ Is this you?Strong accounting and financial management skillsAbility to prepare and analyze financial statements, with timely and accurate closeTrack record of managing first audit at growth technology companiesExperience with budgeting and forecastingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExperience leading accounting team, and working independentlyProficiency in accounting software, with experience upgrading ERPKnowledge of tax laws and regulationsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to meet deadlines and work under pressureStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsCPA, with at least 10 years of experienceANDHigh intellectual curiosity and a proclivity to lean into a new subject matterA trusted advisor and partner for all levels of the organizationIntrinsically motivated: you set the highest possible bar for what you build and shipAn eye for spotting an opportunity, intuition for determining which ones to prioritize, and courage to follow throughPossesses humility — no work is too trivial if it’s impactfulResilient and open to honest (and kind) feedback; tough skinSelf-aware and committed to learning the why for both successes and failuresProactive communication skills, both sync and asyncExperience managing and building relationships across multiple departments and stakeholder levelsA natural affinity to our values of connect, challenge, ownCurious to learn more about who we are and how we operate?
