We are seeking a seasoned and hands-on Data Engineering Manager to take on a leadership role within our organization. The successful candidate will lead a dynamic team, driving projects involving Snowflake, data warehousing, P&C insurance, SQL, Talend, ETL processes, AWS, orchestration, and big data technologies. This role is to be located in our San Antonio office. Remote within the Central or Eastern US region may be considered for highly qualified candidates.
Areas of Responsibility include:

Leadership and Project Management:
Lead and mentor a high-performing data engineering team, providing guidance on best practices, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Manage end-to-end data engineering projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions.

P&C Insurance Domain:

Leverage in-depth knowledge of the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance domain to design and implement data solutions aligned with industry requirements and business goals.

Technical Skills:

Demonstrate expertise in Snowflake data warehouse architecture, configuration, and optimization.
Design and implement scalable and performant data models within the Snowflake environment.
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data retrieval, transformation, and analysis.
Ensure adherence to best practices for SQL coding standards.
Utilize Talend or similar ETL tools for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient data pipelines.
Optimize ETL workflows for scalability, reliability, and performance.
Leverage AWS services for data storage, processing, and analytics.
Work with big data technologies to handle large volumes of data efficiently.
Implement and manage orchestration tools to automate and schedule data workflows.
Ensure seamless integration of data pipelines and workflows across various systems.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Proven hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL, Talend, AWS, and big data technologies.
In-depth knowledge of the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance domain desirable. Healthcare or Financial Services will be considered.
Experience leading and managing data engineering teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Preferred Skills:

Certifications in Snowflake, Talend, AWS, or related technologies.
Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards.

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
Colorado outside of Denver metro, Maryland, Nevada, and Rhode Island Pay Ranges:
$111,300—$132,400 USD


California outside of San Francisco metro area, Connecticut, Denver metro area, Washington State, and New York State (including Westchester County) Pay Ranges:
$122,400—$145,600 USD


New York City and San Francisco metro areas Pay Ranges:
$133,600—$159,000 USD
