Avian Care Specialist

The Avian Care Specialist (ACS) is responsible for the day to day feeding, cleaning and enrichment of the parrots in our facility. Duties include: preparing fresh food; feeding and watering birds each morning; cleaning and disinfecting each enclosure and surrounding area; sweeping and mopping the floors; spending time with the birds in the play area or outdoor aviary; making toys; moving birds from one building to another; setting up enclosures for new birds, and more.The person for this job must be reliable, responsible, and comfortable working with parrots, and loud noises. The environment is dynamic, and always changing. The ACS will be working directly with parrots, and vet tech experience is valued, but is not required. We are a growing non-profit organization and hope to build an employee family for years to come. Compensation increases with time and experience, and full time opportunities are a possibility with our fast growing rescue.
