In addition, we provide a foundation for a strong, positive Jewish identity centered in Jewish values, traditions and rituals. The school is located in dedicated space at Greenburgh Hebrew Center.Overview of Teacher Positions and Experience/Education Required:The candidate must have experience teaching young children, specifically in the field of early childhood education, or a related field, and be able to meet the requirements of a New York State Licensing agency. This means having a Masters Degree, or providing proof that he/she is enrolled in as Masters Degree Program in the above field. Overview of Responsibilities:Head Teacher $26 HourlyBe present for school hours ( 9 a.m. 11:45 a.m.), Monday - Friday, arrive at least 15 minutes early to set up classroom and greet parents/caregivers and children. Potential for extended hours from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. at a rate of $30 per hour.Gear program to the needs of individual childrenBe responsible for the ordered arrangement, appearance, dcor, and learning environment of the classroom.Assume an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff.Assist in the ongoing evaluation of children, including anecdotal records.Maintain discipline, health and safety of group, and inform Director of any health and safety problems.Keep daily attendance record.Supervise, train and utilize classroom assistants effectively,Attend all staff meetings.Discuss issues with children with Director to develop a plan of action with parents.Conduct two formal parent conferences. Keep communication open with parents on childrens school adjustment and behavior. Plan and implement methods of establishing positive relationships with the parents of students.Actively pursue professional excellence by participating in conferences, courses and other opportunities for professional growth.
